I design parts by using Solid Works, part modeling (extrude, revolve, holes, patterns, blend, sweep blend, sweep, round, chamfer, rib etc.), surface designing (trim, project, splines, curvature analysis, top down modeling w/out skeleton etc.), sheet metal design (flat walls, flange walls, bend, unbend etc.), drawing (tolerance, aux view, section view, arrows, notes, BOM creation, tables, show model annotations etc.) and assembly design (constraints, replace, repeat, interference) for 4 years. I’m proficient in first order structural analysis tools, surfacing, cable layout, sheet metal design, casting, injection molds, and mechanisms add-ons. I understand the importance of good modeling practices such as establishing datums early, creating chamfers/rounds at the end, deleting external references, not applying features at assembly levels. I also understand design for manufacturing such as hole edge distance, hole depth/diameter ratios, sizing of clearance holes, and tolerances. I know how to use GTOLs and how to create LDD drawings. I can process change notices and update drawings. I am familiar with PDM packages and sharing models. I’m confident I can learn anything necessary for this position with little to no direction. I am passionate about design and have worked hard to develop my CAD skills to help communicate my ideas and collaborate with others.
