Job Description Overview:
Drive large heavy-duty electric vehicles, including large Class 8 on-road trucks, yard tractors, port cargo handling vehicles and school buses. The driving will be done in the Southwest region, primarily in San Diego County. Occasional assignments to Los Angeles County, or other regions.
Trips will be to test drive vehicles and give valuable feed back to the TransPower team. May also pick up equipment and deliver or demonstrate vehicles. The trips will vary anywhere from a few hours to several days or longer.
It is key for this role to accurately document all drive cycles using TransPower supplied drivers log.
While driving TransPower vehicles, will serve as a company advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
When not driving, may be asked to perform general shop maintenance or shuttle parts between our two facilities
- High School or GED
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License in good standing
- 2+ years commercial driving experience
- No convictions for Reckless Driving, DUI or DWI within the past 10 years
- No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation within the last 5 years
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience driving electric and hybrid electric vehicles
- Some previous mechanic experience a plus
- Good understanding of hybrid drive systems
- Experience reporting equipment or mechanical issues while on route
- Driving endorsements
