Job Description Overview:

TransPower is in need of a well-rounded Functional Systems 26262 Manager to lead ISO26262 compliance.  TransPower is small, but growing, so candidates must be self-directed, multitasking, and able to function within various levels of structure and supervision. This job will have the candidate rotating between the production floor, TransPower vehicles, and an office environment, and thus requires a person who enjoys that diversity. This is a fast-paced company providing a challenging environment where new products are always in development and open-ended problem solving is the norm.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans for ISO26262 compliance
  • Create ISO 26262 functional safety documentation
  • Conduct reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycles

 Required Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ISO26262
  • Experience with safety architectures, management and planning
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently with limited supervision

Required Education/Certifications:

  • Formal management or business training is a plus but is not mandatory (e.g., MBA, PMP Certification)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Functional Safety Lead
  • Experience with the development and planning for ISO26262 compliance
  • Experience with creation of ISO 26262 functional safety documentation
  • Experience conducting reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycles
  • Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as Solidworks, electrical engineering design tools, and/or models-based control tools such as Matlab and Simulink

Job Description Overview:

The Service Technician will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of TransPower’s electric / hybrid vehicles, energy storage and associated charging equipment.  The position will support vehicle commissioning, integration, diagnosing operational problems and repairing equipment for vehicles and equipment in house, as well as in the field. Travel may be required up to 90% of the time. Travel locations mainly within California but will expand throughout North America as the company grows. Physical demands include, but are not limited to, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking some heavy lifting, and maneuvering over, under and around vehicles and equipment, to service, maintain and repair.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Repair, maintain, troubleshoot and service electric/hybrid vehicles, systems and equipment
  • Maintain good communication with internal/external staff such as engineering, fleet maintenance managers, drivers, co-workers, supervisors, and fleet mechanics
  • Maintain proper paperwork and documentation for repair and installations including written procedures and instructions
  • Complete assigned work accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Add notes to team’s field service software to enable follow-up communications with customer and historical data
  • Update vehicles in house and in the field with new service software
  • Train end users on operation, repair, and maintenance of all TransPower product lines

Required Qualifications:

  • Journeyman level experience in the automotive market, preferably with heavy duty vehicles
  • Strong experience with electrical wiring, circuit testing, troubleshooting and general mechanical/electrical systems
  • Ability to operate independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work without an office and out of a vehicle at different sites
  • A self-starter with strong personal initiative and follow through to respond promptly to customer needs and requests
  • Reliable personal vehicle (TransPower does offer travel reimbursement)

Required Education/Certifications:

  • Trade school or higher in related field
  • 5+ years related work experience

Required Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be able to read schematics and diagrams
  • Ability to interact professionally at all times with internal and external customers
  • Good problem resolution and analytical skills related to troubleshooting technical issues, communicating and documenting solutions to non-technical parties
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including MS Excel and Outlook
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

  • Technical Degree
  • ASE Master Certification – Auto and/HD Truck
  • Commercial Driver’s License. Good driving record and demonstrated ability to safely operate company and customer vehicles
  • General knowledge of truck and bus hybrid or electric drive systems
  • High voltage, natural gas, and hydrogen systems training or certification
  • Experience in repairing high voltage components such as inverters, converters, high voltage contractors, high voltage cables, permanent magnet traction motors
  • Able to maintain good communication with internal/external staff such as engineering, fleet maintenance managers, drivers, co-workers, supervisors, and fleet mechanics
  • Able to maintain proper paperwork and documentation for repair and installations including written procedures and instructions
