HERA Hydrogen Storage Systemsis a developer of innovative hydride materials, hydride/hydrogen catalysts and hydride-based products, primarily focused on existing and future automotive, hydrogen distribution and transportation markets.
Hydrides are materials that can absorb and release hydrogen, in other words, store hydrogen. In addition, as the hydrogen is absorbed and released the hydride material exhibits unique heat and pressure characteristics.
HERA’s technology is well suited to several applications for which it is developing innovative, efficient and environmentally friendly products. These include:
Hydrogen compressors for existing hydrogen production and distribution markets and the emerging Hydrogen Economy;
Cooling and heating systems for existing automotive markets;
Advanced batteries for the existing hybrid electric vehicles and future hydrogen powered vehicles; and
Hydrogen storage systems for hydrogen powered vehicles and hydrogen production and distribution systems in the emerging Hydrogen Economy.
Since its inception in 2001, HERA has developed hydride materials and hydride/hydrogen catalysts as well as several product prototypes. HERA’s successes include the discovery and development of a breakthrough nano-catalyst, enabling new hydride materials and improved performance of hydride-based products, along with other components and technologies for the efficient utilization of hydride-based hydrogen.
HERA is headquartered in Longueuil, Québec, Canada, just outside of Montréal, which is the primary location of the Company’s materials’ R&D activities. HERA USA Inc., its US subsidiary located in Ringwood, New Jersey, is responsible for the Company’s product development activities.
